Check and go tool
The Check and go tool is a database which enables people with disabilities to construct a profile of their own individual needs or a profile of accessibility for a potential employer or workplace. This tool is especially addressed to people with disabilities, their trainers and job coaches.
The criteria lists for your accessibility profile are divided into barrier groups which you can find on the right hand side of this page. You are asked to fill out the fields of the following lists very carefully, because the aim is to inform a potential employer about your individual needs, and not your desires. Therefore you do not have to fill out all of the criteria lists and questions, but should only fill in those you find important for your individual profile of accessibility. Please be aware that accuracy is very important so that your potential employer can have essential information about your accessibility.
In order to facilitate the use of the Check and go and make it more effective, there are many helpful features available. These features are explained in the training tool in Module GO: Learn to use the Check and go to make your individual profile of accessibility for a job. Before starting to fill in your individual needs in the form on the database, you should read the following explanations carefully.
To use the Check and go tool quickly and efficiently you can find below a pre-selection of barrier groups based on the check and go project’s target groups. This pre-selection can help speed up the profile making process, considering that you probably will not need to fill in all criteria lists. Explanations on the functionality and the contents of this pre-selection are provided in Module GO. Please note that you do not have to use this pre-selection – you can also choose your relevant barrier groups by yourself. In this case, please select your barrier groups on the right hand side. If you are not used to working with computers you should ask for assistance in reading the pre-selection and filling in data in the criteria lists.
